What can I eat while I get used to my new dentures?

What can I eat while I get used to my new dentures?

It will likely take some time and practice to get used to eating with new dentures. In this post, our Surrey dentists share a few tips on which soft foods to stock your fridge with.

Meal Planning

After your tooth has been extracted and you receive your new dentures, you’ll need to stock up on a diet of liquids and soft foods to make fast, nutritious, and delicious meals you’ll enjoy.

Some of our favourite options in this category include lentil dal and rice, scrambled eggs and avocado, macaroni and cheese, and soft-cooked tofu with noodles and veggies.

Here are some soft foods our dentists recommend for patients before they start the denture process.

Soft food recommendations for people with new dentures:

  • Savoury Foods
  • Rice or risotto
  • Soft breads for dipping
  • Well-cooked leafy greens
  • Eggs (your preference)
  • Soft-cooked vegetables
  • Vegetable juice (low sodium)
  • Noodles and pasta
  • Melted hard cheeses
  • Regular or baked beans
  • Meals that can be soft-cooked
  • Tofu
